In order to be healthy at my height and weight there are certain portions of different types of food I should eat. For example, I should have 9 ounces of grains a day. Grains include bread, cereal, rice,etc. Next, I should eat 3.5 cups of vegetables a day. I eat many vegetables like green beans, celery, salad leaves, etc. Everyone should exercise for over 60 minutes a day. Exercising helps you burn off the extra fat and calories that you do not need. Next, I also should eat 2 cups of fruit a day. I eat many fruits so that should not be hard. I also need to eat 6.5 ounces of meat and beans a day. I love meat so it is difficult to stay under 6.5 ounces a day considering some steaks that I eat are 9 ounces. The government says that 4.5 ounces of my grains should be whole grains which are more healthy than regular grains. Grains give people essential nutrients like carbohydrates. Fruits and vegetables give people vitamins and minerals which are very important in good health, while the protein in meats and beans gives people energy, and protein is needed in many diets.

 

There are some foods that are not healthy at all. For exanmple in "oreo fun stix" the main ingredient is sugar. Too much sugar causes you to crave it. This causes you to become addicted to it which makes you eat too much sugar which causes dental problems. Too much sugar can cause your pancreas to create too much insulin which can cause diabetes. Insulin is also a hunger hormone which makes you hungry all the time. This is how people gain weight because they eat a lot more because of the insulin making them hungry all of the time. Being overweight and having diabetes are serious problems. Diabetes has to be treated around the clock because it is extremely dangerous if not taken care of.
